Tires Empty
PostSubject: Tires   Tires EmptyMay 15th 2008, 4:23 pm

Who around here(Reno) has the best deal on tires. Looking for a 190/50ZR17 and a 120/70ZR17. I have one commute left on my back. Currently running Pilot Roads. Also, how much better do the dual compounds last? Are the worth the extra $$?

Also the standard PP has a hard compond all around, were as the P2CTs
have that same hard compond in the center and a more softer compond on
the sides. Depending on how you ride, if you do a lot of twistys P2CTs
will give you the most grip on the sides, and wear more out on the sides, but wear less in the center.
If you ride on and off I stick with the standard PP, they handle the
same but will wear evenly all around longer or only on the contact
points you use most. Why spend more if you use the sides of the tire less and
wear down the center for the P2CTs. I hope I made sence. Neutral

Tires Empty
PostSubject: Re: Tires   Tires EmptyMay 16th 2008, 2:18 pm

I just picked up a set of Dunlop Sportmax sport touring tires for my bandit(280/55zr17,120/70zr17) from motoxoutlet.com. They had the best prices I could find for name brand tires online even though you have to pay shipping they still cost less than anyone else. I ordered my tires on Monday and they were on my doorstep Tuesday. I took my own wheels off and put them back on to save money on install. Freedom Cycles in south Reno charged $50 to put the tires on but they did it quickly. Michaels in Reno sucks. The woman in service told me that they wouldnt be able to put my tires on until June!!!!! I paid $280 total including price of install for my tires. Michaels wanted $350+ just for the tires.
